TRAFFIC ISLAND

Yaldhurst And Carmen Roads

A traffic island at the intersection of Carmen and Yaldhurst roads was approved by the Paparua County Council last evening. The council will show the Waimairi County Council a plan of the proposed alterations and seek the approval of the National Roads Board through the Ministry of Works.

The county engineer (Mr A. Dyhrberg) said the cost of the alterations would be about £9O. This included the island, better lighting, and widening the entrance of Carmen road. A letter from the district officer of the Transport Department (Mr D. L. Hogan) offered the co-operation of the department in designing the alterations.
