Third Test In Christchurch
Twenty-eight matches. Including three tests, have been set down in the official itinerary for the New Zealand tour of the Indian Wanderers’ hockey team. The itinerary was released last evening by the New Zealand Hockey Association’s management committee in Christchurch. The Indian team will arrive in Auckland on May 29 and will play its first match against Rodney on May 30. The first test match against a New Zealand renresentative side will be plaved at Auckland on June 5. the second will be in Wellington on July 1, and the third in Christchurch on Julv 8. Canterbury will meet the tourists on June 17. and South Canterbury on June 19. Word had been received that the Indian team would comprise at least five Olympic hockey nlayers. All others had either played for India or had nlayed in ton tournaments, the chairman (Mr A D. Holland' reported in onen meeting after discussions in committee. The management committee bad decided, at least for the first test, that the New Zealand team would wear the uniform used by th* Olympic team in Rome last year, Mr Holbnd said. It was confidents expected that the New Zealand team would comprise a majority of Olympic players, but it had not yet been selected. Advice had been received from the Indian Hockey Federat’on that it was sending its Olymnic coach with the team in view of its nronosed narticinat'on in the Tokyo Olympic Games, Mr Holland said. The itinerary is:—
