Mr A. D. Holland New Chairman
Mr A. D. Holland (Christchurch) was elected chairman of the New Zealand Hockey Association’s management committee at the first meeting of the incoming committee in Christchurch last evening. The former chairman, Mr J. G. Leggat, did not accept nomination because he will be travelling to South Africa this year as manager of the New Zealand cricket team. “I do not want this to be treated in any way as my retirement from hockey. I do it reluctantly,” Mr Leggat said. Mr Leggat will still remain a member of the management committee.
“I want to say publicly that I am only accepting this office for this year.” said Mr Holland. When Mr Leggat returned from South Africa he would have to b» prepared to face a ballot. “I am just a stop-gap," said Mr Holland
