WEKAS FROM CHATHAMS

Four Alive At Amberley Four of the five wekas brought from the Chatham Islands on the Holmburn are still alive and being cared for at Amberley. This was reported to the Arthur’s Pass National Park Board yesterday afternoon by the secretary (Mr D. Morse). The birds are to be freed in the Arthur’s Pass National Park. Mr Morse said that birds would come from the Chatham Islands in small shipments. Mr L. W. McCaskill moved that a specially constructed box be sent to bring the birds from the islands. The motion was carried.
