VISUAL AIDS CONFERENCE
N.Z. Religious Film Society A three-day conference on the uses of visual aids in Christian Education organised by the Religious Film Society of New Zealand is being held at Tyndale House, the Hackthorne road property of the Cashmere Evangelical Trust. Designed to provide a course of study with demonstrations in new techniques and methods of using motion pictures, film strips and other forms of visual aids, the course is being conducted and attended by representatives of the clergy and teaching staff of various local church and parish organisations. Opened on Tuesday morning by the Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. A. K. Warren), the programme continued throughout the day and yesterday with viewing sessions interspersed with lectures and discussion periods. The course will end today. Within the theme, “the churches’ use of modern methods of communications” subjects being discussed include: the use of the film strip library in Sunday schools and for general parish use. the use of film and filmstrip projectors, front and rear projection screens, taperecorders and other items of equipment. During the course displays of tiie newest equipment available have been set up for demonstration and instruction in operation and maintenance. The whole conference was organised by the director of the Religious Film Society (Mr A. F. Uden) and by local members of the society.
