U.N. CONGO COSTS

Stopgap Plan Approved

(Rec. 10 p.m.) NEW YORK. April 3. The United Nations General Assembly today approved a stopgap proposal for financing United Nations Congo operations pending a decision on costs for the entire year. The 99-member forum endorsed the plan by 51 voles to 10 (the Communist bloc) with 22 abstentions. It was a recommendation of the Budgetary Committee authorising the SecretaryGeneral, Mr Dag Hammarskjold, to continue until April 21 to incur commitments for the Congo “at a level not to exceed eight million dollars a month.”
