RELEASE OF DINGOES
Complaint At Zoo Action (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 27. Complaints that the Auckland Zoo had released three dingoes in the Thames area were made at a recent meeting of the Thames-Coromandel Hydatids Eradication Committee. The supervisor of the Auckland Zoo (Mr D. Wood) said today the dingoes were released “only to persons who had received permission from the Department of Agriculture.” To the best of his knowledge all the dingoes released had been males. He thought they were dingohusky crossbreds. A spokesman for the department said in Auckland today no permits would be issued for the release of pure dingoes in New Zealand.
