Child Drowns In Creek

(N.Z Press Association) TIMARU, March 27. A three-year-old child was found drowned at 10 a.m. today in a small creek at Waihaorunga. She was: Trayza Christine Helson, aged three, only child of Mr and Mrs W. A. Helson, of 7 R D. Waimate. Mr and Mrs Helson are employed by Mr J. B. Bird, of Parkdale. Waihaorunga. The child and her mother were at the Birds’ home for the day. The child, who had been playing with another little girl, was missed and after a

search was found by Mrs Bird in three feet of water in Meyers creek which runs near the Birds’ house. Mrs Bird carried out artificial resuscitation with the assistance of a neighbour until a doctor arrived.

Car Recovered.—A Zephyr car which was converted on Sunday evening was recovered in Latimer square yesterday. Part of the front of the car was damaged.
