COACHING SCHEME

Report To Committee A recommendation that primary school direct coaching classes be increased from one to two because of the keen attitude of the boys .was made m a coaching report presented to a meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Cricket Association last evening by Mr A. E. L. Britten. It wa§ recommended that secondary school classes be reduced to one and largely confined to the younger age groups. M Bear will begin the next season by spending one week coaching at Rangiora. probably undertaking direct coaching of three sets of schoolboys in the afternoons, with group coaching of 24 club and secondary school players in the evenings. It was further recommended that the duration of all direct coaching nets be extended to run from October 24 to December 21 and again from January 26 to March 1. Next season it is hoped once again to run a group coaching class for the post-primary division of the Teachers’ College in the mornings of October and November, and to conduct a refresher course late in November.
