Bowls N.Z. WOMEN’S TITLE

Champions In Singles (N-Z. Press Association) WANGANUI. March 21. Seven women bowlers, two of them from South Island centres, remain in the New Zealand Women’s Bowling Association’s champion-of-champion singles after the first day’s play today. Mesdames G. Gillespie (Taranaki) and J. Stevenson (Central Otago) kept their two lives. The one-lifers remaining are Mesdames J Jonson (Auckland), R. Rvan (Waikato), El Doak (East Coast), J. Wilkie (WellingU McKenzie (Christchurch).

Mesdames Gillespie and Stevenson will meet tomorrow morning.

Today’s play reached a particularly hi£i standard on greens that were running well. The weather was fine. Results were:—
