CANTERBURY BANK
Professor Danks In Favour
Commenting on the proposal to establish a trustee savings bank in Canterbury, Professor A. J. Danks, associate professor in the economics department at the University of Canterbury, said: “One of New Zealand’s most urgent economic problems for some years to come is to find the savings necessary to provide urgent capital development. Any agency which would add to the net flow of savings is therefore of the utmost importance and value to the community. “For this reason the establishment of a trustee savings bank in Christchurch, with the prospect it offers of an accumulation of new private savings, deserves the support and encouragement of all public spirited citizens.”
