Basketball PAVILION ADDITIONS
Plan To Meet Cost
The provision of adequate pavilion facilities will be the main aims of the Canterbury Basketball Association executive this year. At the annual meeting last evening, the executive placed before delegates a proposal that the cost of the additions be met by an increase in the charge for the Saturday cards of Is a player for senior teams and 6d a player for junior teams. The motion was carried.
with Sumner and Celtic voting against it. Mrs L. Coatsworth outlined the proposed alterations to the rules. The obstruction ruling, which is the only major change, provoked some spirited but unfavourable comments.
Officers elected were:—patron. Mrs G. Manning; president. Miss Edna Yates: vicepresidents, Mrs F. 3. Shannahan. Miss H. Yates; secretary. Mrs P. Murdoch; treasurer. Mrs J. Lee; management committee.
Mesdames A. South. A. Nichol. T. Southam, F. Gough; players' delegates. Mesdames M. Murray (West Old Girls), M. Neiman (Kakatai), Miss M. Fisher (Technical); ground supervisor. Mr F. W. Hughes.
