Russia Asked To Send Team (N.Z.P. A .-Reuter—Copyright) CHICAGO, March 16. The Soviet Union has been invited to send a tennis team into its first United States’ competition this season, starting with the national clay court tournaments in Chicago on July 17 to 23. The president of the United States Lawn Tennis Association (Mr George Barnes) said State Department officials sanctioned the invitation. The Soviet team would appear in other tournaments and finish its visit by playing in the United States' national championships at Forest Hills, New York, in September, Mr Barnes said.
