Figures Again Show Decrease

(N.Z Press Association) WELLINGTON. Mar 9.

The Minister of Labour (Mr Shand) said today there had been a further reduction in the number of registered unemployed. The number registered at February 28 was 266 (223 men and 43 women) compared with 333 <2BB men and 45 women) at January 31 The number receiving unemployment benefit at February 28 was 143 (127 men and 16 women), a reduction of 22 from the January 31 figure of 165 (147 men and 18 women)

The number of people registered for employment at the end of February. 1960. was 697 (610 men and 87 women).
