Adjustments For New Year
Changes have been made in two tax forms used by the Inland Revenue Department for P.A.Y.E. The I.R. 12 form, which is used by all salary and wage earners to indicate their tax code and on which employers fill in details of earnings and
tax deductions, will consist of three copies for the 196162 financial year.
At present the form is a duplicate, a carbon backing on the top copy giving the auolicate. The new forms will have no carbon backing, the paper being treated chemically so that impressions are made on the second and third copies merely by writing firmly, preferably with a ballpoint pen. on the top copy. The department has found that with frequent handling the carbon on the present forms leaves smudges on everything it touches. The second change is to the reconciliation statement. IR--63. which every employer has to complete by May 15 A new panel has been added for details of monthly wages and tax payments.
