Suggestion To Be Examined
(IV .Z Press Association) WELLINGTON. March 9. The Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Marshall) said tonight that he had not yet been able to examine the suggestion of the Meat Retailers’ Federation that prices might fall if price control of meat were lifted. Asked if he considered whether there was any room for “whittling down” the present price control structure. Mr Marshall replied: “Where conditions of competition are operating effectively price control should be unnecessary.”
