LONDON, Feb. 20. A New Zealand-born “private eye,” Mr Charles Chrystall, hired by a retired American general to eheek on the Marquess of Exeter for communist sympathies, has a mystery of his own to solve. The mysteiw was how news leaked out of his confidential assignment, the "Daily Express” said today. Could a counter-spy have obtained this information? Mr Chrystall. aged 81, a private detective for 33 years, said yesterday: "We treat the business of
our clients with great secrecy. It is possible that telephone lines between New York and London were faulty and convenations were overheard. A letter might have got into the wrong hands. A cable could have been seen by somebody.’’ United States general. John Greenback, a member of the United States Olympic Committee, engaged Mr Chrystall to eheck on the Marquess, vice-preaident of the International Olympic Committee, because he had voted for the inclusion of Communist China in in the Olympic Games.
