N.Z. GOODS FOR AUSTRALIA
View Of Sydney Retailer
Disagreement with the view of an executive of one of Sydney's biggest retail firms that a sufficient variety of goods was not available at present for it to stage "a really successful exhibition of New Zealand merchandise" was expressed by Mr J. K. Dobson, president of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association, at last evening’s meeting of the association's council. When the views of the Sydney retailer were read, Mr Dobson said he could not agree with the conclusions reached. “You still think there is an exportable surplus -available?” Mr R. H. Stewart asked Mr Dobson. “I don’t know about an exportable surplus, but I still believe that there are New Zealand-made goods saleable in Australia,” replied Mr Dobson. “It depends on how attractive they might be.”
