Hialeah Cup To Trench Horse

(N.Z.P.A .•‘Reuter—Copyright) MIAMI, February 12. The French-bred favourite Wolfram won the 96,000 dollars (£34,285) Hialeah Turf Cup at Hialeah racecourse yesterday, over one mile and a half. The jockey John Rotz kept the five-year-old Wolfram well back early, before bringing him along with a strong finishing burst. Another French-bred horse. Merry Top, finished second, and the Irish-bred Civic Guard was third.

Fpreign-bred horses have now w<sn the race eight times in the last 12 years.
