LONDON CAFES WRECKED

Youths Throw Bombs

In Greek Quarter LONDON, February 9. Police launched widespread investigations in the Greek Cypriot area of London today after a gang of youths wrecked two cafes with home-made bombs, milk bottles, knuckledusters and bicycle chains last night. Three customers—all Greeks —were taken to hospital with cuts and bruises. Both cafes in Camden Town were strewn with broken glass. The youths threw bombs into one cafe, kicked down the door of the second only a few yards away, and beat up an old man who had been eating his dinner. Other customers dived for the floor as the youths began laying about them. One Greek cafe proprietor said friction had grown between teddy boys and Greeks in the area because Greek Cypriot youths had been stealing their girl friends.
