Famine Relief In Kenya
NAIROBI. February 9. A full-scale famine relief campaign has been launched in Kenya in areas badly hit by drought. There is a serious food shortage in the Machakos district, near Nairobi. Two hundred tons of rice offered two months ago to help relieve the famine in Kasai province in the Congo will now be used to ease the Kenya famine.
A spokesman for the Kenya Ministry of Agriculture said some Kenya tribesmen had not seen rice before and if necessary, they would be taught how to cook it.
