“No Question Of N.Z. Intervention” (From Out Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, Jan. 3. There was no question yet of New Zealand troops being committed or alerted to move into Laos with S.E.A.T.O. forces, the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake). who is on holiday at Taupo, said tonight. Mr Holyoake declined to comment on the reported invasion of Laos, which he visited last year, or on the situation there. “I have no adequate information,” he said. He said New Zealand was In constant consultation with all interested governments. The Government was also being kept informed of moves through its permanent representative on the S.E.A.T.O Council in Bangkok. Mr C C Craw, Charge d’Affaires in Bangkok. Mr Holyoake said he had studied a sheaf of cables on the Laos situation before leaving on holiday last week. “At that stage the situation had settled down.” he said.
