Obituary MB E. A. HEYDER
(New Zealand Press Association) MASTERTON, Dec. 30. One of the country’s oldest pilots, Mr E. A. Heyder, died this week in Ceylon. He was 65. Mr Heyder was a foundation member of the Wairarapa and Ruahine Aero Club, and he continued to fly right up to the time of his death: Formerly a farmer at Dalefield he moved to Masterton about 25 years ago and was a member of the Masterton Borough Council for seven years. He was a veteran of both world wars. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. Steamer Express Makes Up Delay.—Although her Lyttelton departure was delayed until 10.13 p.m. on Thursday, because the Invercargill express was delayed at Maheno, the inter-island steamer, Maori, was still able to berth at Wellington at 7.20 a.m yesterday, only a few minutes later than her normal arrival time.
