NAVAL LAUNCHES’ CRUISE
Boats Left Lyttelton For Sounds Two naval training launches left Lyttelton yesterday afternoon on a cruise to Pelorus Sound. One of the launches is manned by reservists from the Canterbury division of the Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve, and the other by a crew of Dunedin reservists. The Canterbury launch is commanded by Lieutenant Commander F. B. Campbell, and the Otago launch by Lieutenant N. G. Howard. The Otago boat left Dunedin on Monday morning and arrived at Lyttelton early yesterday morning. This craft is expected to return to Dunedin on January 9. and until then, she will carry out training exercises in the Sounds with the Canterbury launch, and other launches from Auckland and Wellington.
