Jubilant Jamaicans have paid tribute to F. M. Worrell, the captain, for the West Indies' fight back in the test match against Australia, at Brisbane, which ended in the first tie in test history. George Headley, the former West Indian captain, said: “The West Indies performance reflects the greatest credit on Worrell’s leadership and ability to get extra out of his players in a crisis. But the West Indies must never again on this tour enter a test without two recognised fast bowlers.” Hundreds of congratulatory cables have been sent to Worrell.
