Palmerston North Takeover

(New Zealand Press Association) PALMERSTON NTH., Dec. 16. Mr R. W. Hay, managing director of Hay and Watson, Ltd., announced today all shares in this company had been purchased by Barraud and Abraham, Ltd., of Palmerston North. Hay and Watson was established 24 years ago and operates in the wholesale building and hardware trade. The purchase price has not been announced.

Personal.— Mr Philip Matthews, of Suva, has been appointed public relations and advertising manager of the Paramount group of building companies. Mr Matthews has had more than 20 years’ experience in newspaper, magazine, public relations and advertising work. Before leaving for Fiji in 1955 he was advertising officer to Tasman Empire Airways, Limited. He went to Fiji as assistant public relations officer to the Fiji Government.
