PRODUCTION OF JET BOATS
New Factory Opened
A new company was formed in Christchurch yesterday to produce and distribute jet boats. The company’s 4000 square feet factory is already in production and its output for months ahead is already booked. The company is C. W. F. Hamilton Marine, Ltd., with a capital of £30,000, half of which is held by C. W. F. Hamilton and Company; Ltd., the firm which produced the world’s first jet speedboat. The new company will market the Hamilton marine jet development in New Zealand and in certain overseas territories. The jet boat factory is situated in Annex and Lunns roads, Middleton. Mr C. W. F. Hamilton is governing director of the new company and Mr R. E. Anniss is the manager. Nearly 300 Hamilton jet boats are in use in New Zealand - now and the parent company will hand over future production and sales of the marine jets to the new company.
