Croquet OTAGO BEATEN BY CANTERBURY
Sixteen players, representing the ptago Croquet Association, travelled to Christchurch on Saturday to play representatives of the Canterbury association. The matches were played in spite of rain and Canterbury won by 12 matches to 11. One game was drawn. Results, with Otago names first, were:— Doubles Mesdames T. G. Anderson and P. A. Austin lost to J. Hewitson and Mrs R. Henry, 18-19; Mesdames J. H. Brocklebank and H. B. Alabaster lost to Mesdames E. O. Burgess and R. Stuart, 16-26; F. W. Peters and Mrs A. M. Sherriff lost to Mesdames F. Winchester and J. Robertson, 4-26; Mesdames H. J. Whitehead and C. Preen beat Mrs W. Dailey and H. Rogers, 22-13; Mesdames K. L. Fisher and W. Turnbull beat C. J. Pomeroy and Miss I. Simpson, 21-8; Mesdames N. Kennedy and B. A. Todd beat Mesdames F. A. Barrow and E. D. Parry, 12-10; Mrs R. Wallburton and K. L. Fisher beat Mesdames H. Lovatt and I. Hazelhurst, 16-13; Mesdames T. Cosgriff and J. Rabbette drew with Mesdames C. Milne and B. B. Barnett, 11-11. Singles Mrs J. G. Anderson lost to J. Hew’itson, 15-26; Mrs P. A. Austin lost to Mrs R. Henry, 11-26; Mrs J. H. Brocklebank lost to Mrs E. O. Burgess, 11-22; Mrs H. B. Alabaster beat Mrs R. Stuart, 26-24; F. W. Peters beat Mrs F. Winchester, 26-15; Mrs A. M. Sherriff lost to Mrs J.
