Boxing FULLMER MAY FIGHT MOORE
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LOS ANGELES. December 4. Gene Fullmer began today to negotiate for his next fight after last nights draw against Sugar Ray Robinson, when Fullmer retained ms world middle-weight title. Fullmer told a news conference he was ready to challenge Archie Moore for the world light-heavv-weight crown.
Fullmer's maager (Mr M. Jenson) said the middle-weight champion would be interested in defending his title against either Gustav Scholz or Peter Mueller, of Germany.
Scholz is European champion and Mueller recently beat Joey Giardello. of Philadelphia, a leading contender for the world title. Promoters said today that a Moore-Fullmer title fight in the huge Los Angeles Colliseuin would draw about 500.000 dollars.
Negotiations for the fight will continue tomorrow between Moore and fight promoters.
