LAST MEETING OF LABOUR CABINET
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 5.
The Prime Minister (Mr Nash) presided over the last regular meeting of the Labour Cabinet today. Mr Nash has presided over about 150 Cabinet meetings in the last three years. The Prime Minister is expected to hand his resignation to the Governor-General (Viscount Cobham) next Monday. The Prime Minister-elect (Mr Holyoake) will then be invited to form a Government.
Labour Cabinet Ministers may meet again informally before they resign but there is unlikely to be another forma] meeting Today’s meeting lasted a little more than two hour-. The Prime Minister and other Ministers then attended a reception at the Thai Legation to celebrate the King of Thailand's birthday.
