Leather and Suede Fashionable.—Genuine or simulated, leather is fashionable this season, as is suede. There is a continued and increasing demand for lea-ther-look and suede coats in New Zealand blazer, three-quarter, seven-eighths or full length. New imitation leathers are being used and colours are varied and gay. Genuine Persian suede is being used by one New Zealand manufacturer.
Friends of Princess Margaret Hospital.—The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Friends of The Princess Margaret Hospital: President, Mrs M. M. Curtis; vice-presidents, Mesdames J. E. Lloyd, D. J. Francis, D. C. Kidd, A H T Rose; secretary. Mrs L J. Oliver; treasurer, Mrs C. H. Perkins; sewing group convener, Mrs Z. E. Currie; creche convener, Mrs R. A. Hamilton; knitting group convener, Mrs A. H. T. Rose; flower group convener, Mrs J. E. Lloyd.
