NEW £30m SUPER LINER

Government Gives Approval (N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) LONDON. October 12. The Government has approved a new superliner costing about £30,000,000 to replace the 81,000ton Queen Mary, according to the “Daily Mail.” The Government was prepared to lend the Cunard Company £18,000,000, repayable at 4J per cent. The Ministry of Transport, in announcing the decision, said the new liner would be smaller than the two ageing “Qjieens”—about 75,000 tons.
