BORSTAL TRAINING FOR ASSAULT

Girl Who Injured Old Man (Sew Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 14; The accused was fortunate not to be appearing on a more serious charge, said Mr W. J. Meade, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland, when he sentenced Tui Adelaide Maxwell, aged 17,-a factory hand, to Borstal training on a charge of assault. The Magistrate said the injury Maxwell inflicted on an old man could have been worse. She was on probation for other offences since this assault last August and she had flouted the conditions. It was obvious she needed more discipline and control than she had received previously.
