TAXATION REVIEW AUTHORITY

“High Salaries Offered Competent Men” (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 14. Mr W. S. Goosman (Opposition, Piako) expressed the hope in the House of Representatives today that the salaries paid to members of the board of review, to be set up by the Government to hear income tax. appeals, would be fully commensurate with the high degree of competency required by the board members. Mr Goosman said the salaries should be sufficiently high to attract persons with adequate qualifications. The Minister of Finance (Mr Nordmeyer) assured Mr Goosman that the Government would not hesitate at a high figure for men of the right calibre and competency.
