Tennis Kramer To Defy L.T.A.A. Ban

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, October 6. The tennis promoter, Jack Kramer, would defy the ban on his professional troupe, his Australian manager (Mr R. Barnes) said yesterday. “A lot of tennis associations will still have us on their courts,” Mr Barnes said. “They have to, they depend on us for their finance.” Mr Barnes was commenting on the Lawn Tennis Association of Australia’s recent decision to ban the professionals from all official courts in Australia this season. Mr Barnes described the ruling as a breach of faith, and said the L.T.A.A. president (Mr N. W. Strange) had assured Kramer he would do everything in his power to help professional play in any state which he wanted. Mr Strange used his casting vote to apply the ban.
