Bus And Tram In Collision

Seventy persons escaped serious injury when a bus and a tram collided in the heart of Wellington this evening. Three persons were cut by shattered glass and were taken to hospital. They are Mr H. Walker, the bus driver, of Kenwyn terrace, Newtown, Mr K. Feamley, the tram motorman, of Coromandel street, Newtown, and Mrs A. Gordon, a passenger in the bus, of Donald street, Newtown. The accident occurred shortly after 5 pm. at the corner of Cambridge terrace and Vivian street. After striking the tram, the bus got out of control and skidded into a row of parked cars. Passengers in both vehicles were showered with broken glass. A young mother and her baby on the bus were badly cut, but when an ambulance arrived they could not be found.
