HIT STOREKEEPER WITH BOTTLE
17-Year-Old Girl For Sentence
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 2. A 17-year-old girl hit an 82-year-old shopkeeper over the head with a bottle and his wound needed four stitches, Mr W. J. Meade, S.M., was told by the police in the Magistrate’s Court at Auckland on Saturday. Tui Adelaide Maxwell, a factory hand, admitted a charge of assaulting Herbert Austin O’Hara in the storeroom of his shop on July 12. The police prosecutor (Mr D. N. McLean) said there appeared to be a robbery motive. Maxwell was on probation for theft and attempted shop-breaking. The Magistrate remanded MaxV- well until Tuesday for sentence.
