Cleaners’, Caretakers’ New Award

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 2.

Workers under the Northern, Taranaki, Wellington, Canterbury and Otago and Southland cleaners, caretakers, lift-attend-ants, and watchmen’s award receive rises of between 4s 6d and 5s lid a week in a new award just issued by the Arbitration Court. Incorporating the 24 per cent, general wage order, the award embodies an agreement arrived at in conciliation and is effective from August 24.
