Buildings Gutted In £3000 Blaze

(New Zealand Press Association) PALMERSTON N„ September 1. Fire this morning destroyed a workshop and equipment shed at Steel Benders and Suppliers, Ltd., Palmerston North. Residents in the vicinity of the factory were awakened by the explosion of acetylene cylinders stored in the building. The explosion blew the roof off. The Palmerston North Fire Brigade fought the fire for an hour and a-half before it was brought under control. The manager of the firm, Mr H. Miller, estimated the damage to be more than £3OOO.
