Mr Teddy HiH, Of Auckland

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 1. One of the leading operatic tenors in New Zealand at one time, Mr N. J. (Teddy) Hill, of Auckland, celebrated his 100th birthday today. Mr Hill, at the moment, is in Whangarei Hospital where he is recovering from a broken hip suffered two months ago while on a visit to Whangarei. Many members of his family are planning to visit him for his birthday party, which will be celebrated on Saturday. His brother, the noted composer Alfred Hill, aged 90, will not be coming from Sydney for the party, but he plans to visit him in November. He has written a special song for his brother’s birthday, which will be sung by relatives.
