HOKITIKA WOMAN MISSING

Coat, Shoes, Watch Found On Beach

(New Zealand Press Association) HOKITIKA, August 8.

Police and residents, assisted by a light aircraft, have failed to find any trace of a Hokitika woman, the mother of four young children, who was reported missing between 7 and 8 a.m. today. She is Mrs Margaret Gibson, a widow, aged about 39. A coat, shoes, and a wristlet watch, belonging to Mrs Gibson, were found on the beach off Spencer street, about 8 a.m. by two Hokitika men, Messrs J. and P. Atkinson. They immediately notified Constable M. Direen, who lives nearby, and he searched the beach without success.
