JAPANESE GIRLS TO VISIT NT.
Party Plans To Climb Mt. Cook Five Japanese girls plan to climb Mount Cook and Mount Egmont during a car-trip around New Zealand from January to March next year. Four of the girls are graduates of Waseda University, one of the largest private universities in Japan. All are mountaineers and two have climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in equatorial Africa. The group will be led by Mrs T. Sato, an experienced alpine climber and founder of the Tokyo Y.W.C.A.'s mountaineering club. Other members of the party will be Miss Nobuko Goto, who works for a woman's magazine. Miss Keiko Kawai, Misa Yasuko Machimura, employed by a literary magazine, and Miss Kyoto .Tamura, a secondary school teacher of social studies. The party will use a Japanese car on the tour.
