Embroidered Shoes

A fashion whim in footwear is to send shoes to a dressmaker to be finished off, according to Mr Jack Hinton, managing-director of H. and M. Rayne—the Queen's shoemaker. When he was in Australia recently, Mr Hinton described gold mesh and platinum kid shoes embroidered with gold braid. The dressmaker does the embroidering. He also told of a completely impracticable pair of shoes his firm made of fine, white nylon overlaid with chiffon and threaded through with gold. "These are just for fun,” he said.
