WOMAN WARRANT OFFICER

Long Service Medal Presented (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 1. The Royal New Zealand Air Force’s only woman Warrant officer took her place among men today when she was presented with the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal. Warrant Officer C. R. Bryers has served 18 years in the Air Force. She is the only peace-time woman warrant officer. During the Second World War, when she enlisted, there were several warrant officers in the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force. Warrant Officer Bryers received her warrant in 1952. She has served mainly at Hobsonvillc and Whenuapai.
