Two Aircraft Due Today Two American aircraft, a Globemaster and a Military Air Transport Service DC6, are expected at Christchurch airport early this afternoon. In these aircraft will be supplies, and men who will prepare the way for the reopening of United States Antarctic operations during the coming season. The Globemaster, which was expected yesterday, was delayed at its first stopping point, Travis Air Force Base. California, by engine trouble. The aircraft later left for Hawaii, and will fly to New Zealand today. In the DC6 will be the new camp commandant, Commander F. Kimberling, and some 50 passengers.
