Notifiable Diseases

Another case of salmonellosis, a form of food, poisoning, was notified in a four-year-old girl at Kaikoura last week, but there is nothing to link it with a case of salmonellosis reported in a one-year-old girl there a week previously. Six cases of infective hepatitis, a form of jaundice, were notified in the Christchurch health district last week.

Two, cases of opthalmia neonatorum, an eye disease in new-born babies, were notified, and one of pemphigus neonatorum, a skin disease in new-born babies.
