Press Association—Copyright) MOSCOW, July 29 The United States secretly supplied General Rommel’s Nazi Army in North Africa to fight the I British, according to the official Soviet history of the last war. A secret agreement had been signed on February 26, 1941, be- • tween Mr Robert Murphy, of the i United States, and General Weygand, of France, the history said. By it ‘‘the United States would i get important economic advant- ■ ages in North Africa and unoccupied France. In return, France would get raw materials, industrial products and food, al- ‘ though the United States State • Department well knew these ’ would get to Germany.” The history also claims the ’ French Vichy Government “permitted” Tunisia (then a French protectorate) to send equipment which had come from the United I States to the German Army in Libya.
