Darfield Water Supply

Sir, —At long last, perhaps residents of Darfield are taking exception to their water supply. How many realise what a danger this water is to the local hospital, one of the busiest under the care of the North Canterbury Hospital Board. It must be frustrating to a matron and staff striving to curb infection to have to content with water that is either non-existent at times when required urgently or else too filthy for patients to use. Is this the responsibility of the board? Perhaps, as “She Won’t Be Right” suggests, the Health Department should investigate.—Yours, etc., T.H.B. July 28, 1960.
