BIDS FOR MACKY, LOGAN
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 27. A spokesman for Bing, Harris and Company, Ltd., said tonight that the voting figures of the informal shareholders’ meeting, held in Auckland yesterday, may not provide a true reflection of the attitude of shareholders in general. Details of the second Bing, Harris offer were posted in Wellington on Monday evening and could not have reached all shareholders before the meeting. There was also more than a possibility that many of the proxies were given before the second Bing,Harris bid was announced last Friday evening. The resolutions of the meeting were not binding in any way on any shareholder, and they were free to accept the second Bing, Harris offer should they elect to do so, added the spokesman. Shareholders who were in any doubt now should consult their stockbroker, bank manager or other financial advisers.
