Mr A. H. Mahan To Stand For Nelson (New Zealand Press Association) NELSON. July 27. Mr A. H. Mahan, president of the Nelson Electorate branch of the Social Credit Political League, has been selected as the Social Credit candidate to contest the Nelson seat at the forthcoming General Election. An electrical inspector with the Nelson City Council, Mr Mahan has been a Nelson resident for the last 13 years, since moving from Dunedin. He is secretary of the Nelson branch of the Royal Society. Mr Mahan won a ballot at a special election meeting held recently. There were two candidates. Official confirmation of the result was received from Wellington today
